Each year the PTO hosts a “ Holiday Store” for the Students of Nelson Place to do a little holiday shopping of their own. What is the Holiday Store? Basically it’s a traveling store. The PTO brings in a vendor to supply the stock and the PTO prices the items and staffs the store with parent volunteers. Each class is given approximately 40 minutes to browse the store and purchase items they want. This is a great opportunity to help out with your child's class. Information usually comes home late in November for this fun event.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!! We need volunteers to help open, sort, price and layout the stock on Friday, December 5th starting at 9am in the library. The store itself will be open during the school day for the students to shop which means volunteers are also needed for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, December 8th, 9th and 10th to help the students make selections within their budget and re-stock items.
Volunteer forms have been sent home in backpacks already. Response is needed by Monday, December 1st. If you didn't receive your form, contact chairperson Dave Francis at 508-304-7224 or via email at justdave3@hotmail.com . Volunteers must be CORI checked.
The holiday store is a fun time for the students to buy surprise presents for family, friends, and even pets.
So start making your list and checking it twice!
